We bought the domain as a joke at a puppet slam after-party in 2025. Then we actually built the thing, because it turns out finger puppetry has real news, real trends, and real patterns that didn't have anywhere to live. We kept the name. We regret nothing. Three friends left a regional puppet slam arguing about whether finger puppetry had "real" trend coverage. One of them bought the domain that night to end the argument.
What started as a joke newsletter to twelve people turned into an actual publication once craft fair organizers started asking to be featured.
Readers started emailing us asking for more than the one or two starter patterns we had. We spent a season building out a full tutorial library instead.
