Yes, we know what the name sounds like

fingerblasting.net is a real publication about a real craft, run by people who think finger puppets deserve better coverage than they get.

The Honest Version

About the name

We bought the domain as a joke at a puppet slam after-party in 2025. Then we actually built the thing, because it turns out finger puppetry has real news, real trends, and real patterns that didn't have anywhere to live. We kept the name. We regret nothing. If you came here expecting something else, welcome โ€” you're going to leave knowing an unreasonable amount about felt.

Origin Story

How we got here

2025

A puppet slam, a bad domain joke, and a bet

Three friends left a regional puppet slam arguing about whether finger puppetry had "real" trend coverage. One of them bought the domain that night to end the argument.

Early 2026

The first ten articles

What started as a joke newsletter to twelve people turned into an actual publication once craft fair organizers started asking to be featured.

Spring 2026

The pattern library expands

Readers started emailing us asking for more than the one or two starter patterns we had. We spent a season building out a full tutorial library instead.

Summer 2026

Today

News, trends, and a growing tutorial library โ€” still run by the same three people, now with slightly better glue guns.
